India's electoral rolls, made answerable

Over 21 crore voter records across 16 states, queryable from a single polling station up to the entire state — by booth, assembly, district, parliamentary constituency, or statewide. Every figure traces back to the published roll it came from.

The problem

Published is not the same as queryable

India's electoral rolls are published part by part — PDF by PDF, booth by booth. There are no statewide totals you can query, no way to compare one constituency against another, and no view of how the electorate has changed. A question that should take seconds takes an afternoon. DataCenter closes that gap.

How it works

One analysis engine, five geographic scales

Every analysis runs identically at state, district, parliamentary constituency, assembly and booth level. Moving from a statewide view to a single polling station changes the resolution of the answer, not the way you ask.

What sets it apart

Built for the scale of Indian elections

01

13 crore entries, sub-second

Uttar Pradesh alone has 13,42,31,257 roll entries across 403 assemblies. Dashboards are pre-computed so answers arrive while you are still framing the next question.

02

One state, one DataCenter

Each state runs on its own subdomain with its own database. Nothing is shared between rolls, and a state without data says so honestly rather than rendering empty charts.

03

Provenance, not assertion

Every figure cites the published roll it came from. A disputed number is settled by checking the source, not by arguing about methodology.

04

Inference stays labelled

Community grouping is inferred from surname, not published on the roll. Derived attributes carry the classifier pass that produced them and are never presented as statements of fact about a person.

Coverage

16 states live, 20 in preparation

36 sites are provisioned across every Indian state and union territory. Rolls are loaded as they are processed — each state appears the moment its data is verified and ready.

Access

Accounts are provisioned, not self-served

Each account is scoped to the geography a person is responsible for. One sign-in at datacenter.vote covers every state site that account is entitled to see. Electoral rolls are supplied under conditions, and those conditions travel with the data.
